These are the blooms I remember.  My lilac is missing the big "double" looking flowers.  I bet this really smells great!  It is just beautiful!

@JMTKMS: What do you mean the big double looking flowers, I didn't know there where another type. I guess no matter what type, I think they are all beautiful.

It is so nice to see your lilac close up. My bushes all died and I miss having them. I had them for 20 years before they came down with something.

@MaryLarson: I love my lilacs, I would be really sad if mine died, they are one of my favorite spring flower scents.

Do you have lilacs?  In the backyard?  I have a dark purple and the light.  I took pictures today too of mine. I need to post more photos.  :)

@CreativeGreenThu...: They do! I'm going to feel said when the blooms are spent. I'm heading over to my in laws to take some starts from their house this week.
