Set out kale into the garden and put milk jugs (tops cut off) around them to shelter them from the wind for a few days.  The milk jugs have come in handy because I needed to cover them (because of frost) and the jugs kept in heat and protected the seedlings from getting flattened by the blanket.

Set out lettuce in garden.  Leaves were green when in the house and after being outside for a couple days the leaves turned red.
