This year I have vowed to do what has always been the impossible for me - have a productive and beautiful garden in the inferno of an Arizona summer. After much research (reading seed catalogs in a bubble bath is research, right?), I am now ready to launch into the nitty gritty of getting this garden in the ground (more bubble baths will be needed, I'm sure!). Organic heirloom gardening or bust! Wish me luck!

Transplanted baby plants from area being run over with nutsedge. Had to remove all soil from roots to prevent spreading weeds. Second day they're not looking too good. Watered well and gave some fish emuls... more » |
