I grew this last year and it was the most delicious lettuce I've ever had!

Wow it will be fun to see what you plant and grow here!

Lots coming! The area being disked is for spring and summer planting. The last rows in are Walla Walla onions, red onions, radishes, chard and potatoes. We're inundated with the spinach harvest!
Planning for Tomatoes Mar 04, 2012
Activity-icon-status

We have about a dozen varieties of heirloom tomatoes awaiting planting this year. Considering the volume, I anticipate our biggest challenges to be staking or other support, and preservation. A friend recommended using an espalier system. I'm not sure if that would affect the yield (in a bad way). Cages are out of the question;... ...see more

I'm in the same boat as you!  The last two years have sucked regarding harvesting tomatoes.  Last year at an auction we got a huge roll of fence, but its that really strong welded wire stuff.&nbs... more »

We have a large supply of myriad fencing wire, but I hesitate to use it because I'm afraid it will make harvesting difficult. Perhaps we should try a few methods to determine which works best for next year... more »

We have had ZERO rain...as in less than an inch. The weather is scary-warm but we've had cold spells as night which makes the growing slow. Lots of watering, and everything is really taking off now.
