Updates and other stuff... Jun 22, 2012
Activity-icon-status

I couldn't get on here for awhile.  When they updated the site, for some reason, it was not letting me log on.  But, that is all fixed and away we go!

Finally put the watermelon in the garden.  Still have some room in there.  What to fill it with?

Today Reed got the first tomato out of the garden and proudly ate it with his... ...see more

Rain outside it pours and pours... Jun 12, 2012
Activity-icon-status

Earlier this spring, ti seemed like it would never stop raining.  Now, I am ecstatic to see it again!  The garden is going to get a nice, long drink and hopefully perk right up and get to growing!!!!

It looks like rain tomorrow too.  It will be nice and happy.  :)

Here's hoping for some more rain soon, aye?  The heat today was crazy!
Getting dirty with the honey Jun 11, 2012

This morning, after dropping the kid off at school, I went to the garden to do some much needed weeding.  Today, I had company!  Matt came out and helped me.

It is so funny to watch him because he has not had much experience gardening.  He was trying sooooo hard to get each little weed and each little blade of grass.  By... ...see more

Despite all the noble plans of planting and weeding I had today, the old work schedule and other domestic duties kept me out of the garden today.  But all is not lost!

We bought a blueberry bush, a raspberry bush and a grape vine to start in containers on the porch.  The directions say to soak the roots of each overnight... ...see more

I'm so glad the kitties behaved themselves.  How do you suppose these will do in their containers?  I'm happily anticipating seeing this play out.  Hey, how about some home-brewed beverages ... more »

Such a great pic. I love the gnome protecting and serving in the garden. Hilarious!
Digging in the dirt, to find the places we got hurt Jun 10, 2012

Today was a rough day.  Over-tiredness and under-appreciation reared their ugly heads and hung over me the whole day.

When I came home from work, I didn't even go inside despite the aches and pains of my joints begging me to.  I went straight to the garden.  I needed to get to the garden, to smell that earthy smell, to pull... ...see more
