Very impressive. It cannot be easy to grow pumpkins in the Netherlands. I was born and raised there, but now the Eastern Shore of Maryland has become my home. We have a very nice, long growing season.

Composting! Today I mostly raked up leaves. And put them into my fancy new collapsible compost bag. Here's hoping that gives us some nice compost in the spring and not just yuck. Everything has been harvested, the strawberries are running rampant, the fru

p.s. chickens not to have in the neighborhood of a garden (they were such cute chicks!) are barnevelders. Very clever and they found that one corner that they could get in through. Between them and the peacock the bell pepers have been decimated and now t

Tomato cull...yep blight, rot basically all the large tomatoes, despite the cut back last week, didn't make it. Have hopes that the cherries will survive but not looking good. They do so much better & bigger outside rather than in the greenhouse but if th
