Annual Apple Picking Trip....apple crisp anyone?

Another sunny and somewhat warm fall day at
Honey Pot Hill Orchards (Stow, MA). Our family tends to go to HPHO, but we've gone to
Nashoba Valley Winery other years as well (wine tasting and apple picking!). Anyway, all went well - we go there early before the big rush and got plenty of apples (Cortland, MacIntosh, etc.). My nieces and nephew were great about climbing the trees - makes for easy picking!
The trip wouldn't be complete without visiting the orchard store (fresh cider doughnuts and gallons of cider) and the animal petting area (my niece and I are quite fond of the rabbits). A great day was had by all, and we all left with plenty of apples for making apple crisp. I also ship some to friends and family on the West Coast along with colorful fall leaves - a little reality for their memories of New England.
