The city is getting colorful...the forsythia is out in full force - and the daffodils too...and now the dogwoods...what's going on???

Everything came out early down here in Texas too. It has definitely been an early jump on spring. Some of my gardening friends and myself already have tomato blooms!Great photo!

@Sophora:It is pretty cool to have spring a bit early...but it makes you wonder...
Clenram replied about 1 year ago
@Sophora:  I am worried that the tomato plants here are going to get too hot in May!  I actually planted some tomato plants in the shade this year.  I know they usually like direct sun, but going to try many differentÂ... to grow them this year.

Noticed all the forsythia up here in Mi blooming earlier this week, and said, it's time to go sucker fishing - the forsythia's in blooom.

Indiana is in full bloom and yesterday a friend found morels! We are a full month ahead of our season. Usually still snow on the ground!

@Carla Hurst-Chandler:Interesting - does your friend forage for other things as well?  Have you learned how to hunt for morels?
Carla-Hurst-Chandler replied about 1 year ago
@Kristen:Yes.I hunt mushrooms as well...and have been a forager/gatherer since back in my childhood with my grandfather. Along with the mushrooms I gather Spring Greens, Wild Asparagus, Chicory, wild blackberries and raspberries, brown (wood) mushrooms, Oyster mushrooms, black walnuts, hickory nuts, Wild onion and garlic, sassafras, mulberries and tiny wild strawberries. Used to hunt (rabbit and squirrel and quail) but unable to do so these days.

Everything is blooming early in MI as well.....beautiful weather for 2 weeks, anywhere from 60s through high 80s.....but it is in the 40s this morning and looks like it will be like this all week:(

@Liz:I know - the glimpse of spring/summer was lovely - but now we are back to the cold (and worrying about the damage of overnight low temps)

All of our oak trees now have leaves!  It is really spring...

We are colder than normal in Tacoma. everything is blooming about 3 weeks later than normal. It's crazy weather patterns for certain!
