Last Wednesday my brother and sister-in-law were in town for an evening Sox game, so I proposed a lunchtime walk down Comm. Ave. to observe and critique the planters and window boxes.  They were easily convinced of the walk as they are interested gardeners and were up for a rather lengthy stroll!  We passed all types of arrangements - formal and the not so formal...colorful and the not so colorful...and one completely wilted planter (my brother suggested that I take a picture of that one to show how neglect can happen as well).  We enjoyed our walk and even had a few moments to take in the tulips at the Boston Public Garden...that's my next posting - check it out!
