Red Avocado - who knew?

I was at the market on Saturday and came across a red, smooth-skinned avocado.  I figured that is was worth a try...a little food adventure for a slow weekend morning.  It was perfectly ripe - my knife cut through the meat so easily, revealing a nice looking color.  I was eager to taste this new variety (at least new to me), but I was quite disappointed as it was a bit watery.  Has anyone else tried one?  What do you think?

I have never seen one!  What an interesting color on the outside.  I have ate green avocadosÂ... were really watery, so I imagine that this one could vary with taste depending on other factors.  I will have to check it out online... very interesting.  Thanks for sharing.  :)

I've never seen one either ... it is beautiful ... sorry the taste didn't live up to the beauty.
