Red Avocado - who knew?

I was at the market on Saturday and came across a red, smooth-skinned avocado. I figured that is was worth a try...a little food adventure for a slow weekend morning. It was perfectly ripe - my knife cut through the meat so easily, revealing a nice looking color. I was eager to taste this new variety (at least new to me), but I was quite disappointed as it was a bit watery. Has anyone else tried one? What do you think?
