As we were driving into Chicago yesterday, we were listening to one of the Chicago radio stations. We heard this garden sponsored ad several times. It said that spring bulbs are 3 weeks ahead of schedule. It also said that if this warm weather continues, it is possible that this spring could be the second warmest spring in 32 years. Farmers are getting a headstart on planting this year and it warned backyard gardeners not to plant annuals too early. Chicago is only a little over a 4 hour drive from where I live in Michigan, so I'm thinking this could also apply to us. The weather was beautiful here yesterday, a light jacket was worn last night, and it is supposed to be in the upper 70s today. The flower and garden show is about a mile from our hotel. I think we will have a fun walk this morning taking in the sights. Happy gardening!
It is a good point not to get too excited and start planting annuals early...there is always the possibility of a late frost. Enjoy the garden show today - take lots of pics!
@Clenram: This show and Chicago are wonderful! Will be posted tonight unless I fall asleep. I got my gardening aerobics in today and more. I wonder how many miles I have walked today?!?!
