A Rainy Day with Friends

By: Liz
Apr 15, 2012
Today was a rainy day.  My friend, Debbie, had some of her photographs in a photography exhibit at Secor Metro Park in Sylvania, Ohio.  Debbie and her husband, Lynn, my husband and I decided to go see the photography exhibit.  The metro park was very nice and the photography was beautiful.  After the photography show, we went to Garden Smiles in Waterville, Ohio where George Carruth has his sculptures and plaques for sale.  We all got discounts on our purchases for one reason or another.  Great finds for all!  Across the street was an artists' consignment shop with all kinds of wonderful artwork.  Of course, I found a rooster made out of kitchen utensils for my chicken collection.  Finally, we headed to PF Changs where Lynn's husband was waiting to join us for dinner.  It ended up being a fun day even though most of the day was rainy and my aching muscles got a day of rest!

@Jentheo:  As much as I love to garden; every once in a while, it is nice to get away!  We're all gardening buddies, so we have lots to talk about.

What a great day! Thank you for sharing. LOVE the sculpture you bought. :-) After working overtime in the morning, yesterday was a day of forced rest for me - down with an awful bug that had me thinking my head was going to explode it ached so bad. The closest I got to gardening was watching a documentary called "Fresh" -- a very good film, by the way. Just love reading your posts and seeing your pics. You are inspiring.

@StoneCottageFarm...: Thank you, we had a fun day!  I just couldn't resist that rooster.....so different from the ones that I already have.   I hope you are feeling better and can get back to gardening soon.  It's been raining all morning so I don't think there will be any outdoor work today.  I have been repotting some of my plants.  I'll check out that documentary.....I've seen so many lately, I'm not sure if I have seen that one.

I still can't believe how early everything is in bloom this year. Nice photos. It looks like a really nice photography show. Would love to visit the garden store. You need to start hitting garage sales so you can create your own rooster art LOL.

@KR: Thanks.....the show was nice and there were lots of nice photographs.  Garden Smiles is well worth the visit.  I have a large frying pan like this little one.....very heavy.....sometimes it's just easier to buy the artistic piece because you will never make it!
