@dreamwanderon: Strange weather today.....sunny this morning.....when I decided to go outside, it's cloudy with the sun shining under the clouds to the east and gray clouds to the west.....i got my seeds out and started planting carrots and then it started raining.....put everything away and went in the house.....rained for 10 minutes and stopped.....decided to go out again and exact same thing happened.....still windy and it's thundering but i need to catch up on my sleep.....i'm so tired.
@Liz: Good deal... I hope I will have 2 days off next week so I can catch up on my sleep too. This weekend is the busiest weekend of the year for the nursery, so it will be fun, but tiring! :)
@Queen_of_Green: Isn't it amazing how good you feel after a good night's sleep? We've had 2 really nice days. I'm hoping to get my entire garden planted next week. Enjoy your busy weekend! I hope you sell lots of flowers.
@Liz: Sleep is so good! It was busy today with all of the people who don't want to fight the crowds tomorrow. I just got home at 9 20 pm and I have to be back to work at 6:00 am to water and make sure all of the signs are up. Time will fly by tomorrow! I'm really looking forward to it! :) Thank you!
@Queen_of_Green: The sky was beautiful with the sun shining through it. Mostly a big tease with the rain.....rained or sprinkled for short periods.....mostly just windy.....not much in the rain barrel!
@Queen_of_Green: My sons are not coming home because 2 of them are coming home in 2 weeks for a wedding. My sister and I are bringing lunch to my mom's. They are having a Gardener's Idea Day at Four Star Greenhouse at the beginning of June and P Allen Smith will be the speaker. My mom likes him and watches his program on TV, so I bought her a ticket for Mother's Day. Four Star Greenhouse is where they grow all the Proven Winners in our area and they normally are not open to the public except this one time each year. They also show their new plants which most are not available until next year. They put on a very good program and then they have a Market Place afterward where you can purchase plants. They do have a test garden that is open to the public during the summer. It is very pretty.
@Queen_of_Green: I always have a good time when I go to these. I think I've only missed one and that was because they had it on a weekday and I had to work. Now they have them on Saturdays. I always take lots of pictures.
@Liz: I love P. Allen Smith, so I can imagine how much fun that will be! It's so great that you can go every year... It's fun to see what's new and what the trends are! I can't wait to see your pictures! Have a nice Mother's day, too! ... :)
@Queen_of_Green: My mom is excited to go to Four Star Greenhouse in June to see P. Allen Smith.....so I guess I made a good choice for a Mother's Day gift. I'm assuming you were very busy selling lots of flowers for Mother's Day today. One of my sons sent me a huge bouquet of tulips. They are beautiful in pretty pastel shades. It's nice to see tulips again since mine are no longer blooming in the garden.
@Liz: That is so great... I new your mom would like that gift! How nice of your son to send you tulips, too. We sold a crazy amount of vegetable starts, flowers and hanging baskets and fuchsia baskets this weekend. $190,000.00 worth in fact! It was really crazy, but really fun! It sounds like you had a nice Mother's day. :)
