There are actually six baby barn swallows in the nest.....not four like I thought yesterday. In the first video, you can actually hear the barn swallows. In the second video, one of the parents can be seen feeding one of the babies. Don't blink or you'll miss it. They are fast. The mom or dad does not stop to feed.....feeds quickly as it is flying! I wonder how many insects each parent has to catch each day in order to satisfy a family of six babies and then themselves!!
How very cool. We have swallows on our front porch, glad they eat the bugs for us. We saw 5 eggs, but have yet to see babies... sure hope they show up soon.
@JMTKMS: One day they are in the nest and the next day they are on the ground learning how to fly. They learn quickly and will probably have their own nests this year.
