    Dried, spraypainted Schuberti Allium

These alliums have short stems, so I did put narrow wooden stakes in the stem for strength and height.

do they have leaves or is it like that pink spider plant (don't remember the technical name) with just the one spike?

@blackthumb68: Schuberti alliums are bulbs which are planted in the fall.  They have leaves; but after they bloom the leaves and the flowers turn brown.  (The spider plant is also called cleome.)

@peyunia: When they originally bloomed, these Schuberti Alliums were purple and sparkled when the sun shone on them.  I let them stay in the garden until they were brown and dried out.  Then I spraypainted them and put them where I wanted some extra color.
