I have always loved the way hydrangeas look on Christmas trees.  At the end of September, I started to dry my Limelight Hydrangeas.....next year I need to dry more!!  The best way I have found is to use 2 parts of water to 1 part glycerin.  I just fill the vase with this solution so it will cover an inch or two of the bottom of the stems and then just let them drink and dry.  I don't add any more water.  By the time they are put on the Christmas tree, they are nice and fluffy.  MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!

Inspiring Christmas tree! Great idea to bring a piece of the flower garden indoors, and beautiful too.

Interesting use of hydrangeas - I've never seen that before - thanks for sharing!

@Kristen: I actually got the idea last year from "Laurie's Garden" right here on YGS.  She used a lot more hydrangeas on her tree, so next year I'll dry more.  My first attempt at drying was to use her method of just putting them in vases around the house and letting them dry out, but my hydrangeas turn... out limp.  So I started all over with the glycerin.
