Peppers at 7 Days

By: MEGarden
Mar 05, 2012
Lipstick and Bull Nose peppers have been in their peat pots for 7 days now; no sign of germination.  How long does it normally take?

I've had my pepper seeds in a covered tray on a heat mat, and it took about 6 days for several types to start germinating. However, two of my other types have not yet sprouted. I wonder if it depends at all on the variety of pepper? Like, maybe bell peppers take longer? I've heard peppers can take a while, like a couple weeks or possibly more. Last year I only got one pepper seed to germinate, so I am not an expert!

I pickled a bunch of pepper last year....I think there is a picture of them on my post.
Picked a bunch of pickled peppers....isn't that a nursery rhym...?

Most of the seed packets for peppers say 10-21 days - so keep the faith!  I planted peppers on 2-26 and still nothing either, lots of tomatoes up that I planted the same day - peppers are just slower to grow.  Hopin by the end of this week mine will start popping up.  I planted 15 different varieties...planted at least 4 of each kind,  should have PLENTY of peppers for the garden! =)

No sprouts yet, but hopefully soon!

I'm getting a lot to popup now,  mine are on heating mat, so maybe that is helping mine come up sooner. Good luck!
