Aphids all over the peppers, cucumber beetles on all the squash and cucumbers, cutworms having fun with the lettuce and cauliflower, Potato bugs on the tomatoes and potatoes...I think the chives are safe though

I hate bugs and am so glad that we do not get very many here. There are some organic defences that other gardeners here talk about. Good luck! |

Grrenhouse is so full and starting to over flow...thank god the markets have started and the weather forcast is looking up...we need to get some of this stuff in the ground..

seeded a couple thousand carrots..beets are in..cauliflower is in..snow peas are up 150 spinach planted..100 or so swiss chard 400 onions planted..etc..etc

I built a 6'X6'X3' potato box to grow my fingerling potatoes in..filled it with dirt,peat, compost and straw..I hope they grow well

All peppers and tomatoes have been seeded,germinated and are looking very healthy..Garden is completely tilled ready to be worked into beds

We are going into our third season this year. Last year we had a good harvest but this year should be much better. We spent the first year trying to loosen the hard clay soil with a plow, peat, compost, leaves, straw, cardboard, shovels, hoes, pick axes and a whole lot of blood and sweat. The plot was infested with twitch grass and house sized boulders. The second year we expanded the plot by about 10X. More peat, more compost, cardboard, wood ash etc.The tomatoes, summer squash, watermelon, hot peppers, beans, lettuce, veronicas, butternuts and cucumbers did amazingly... we had a low yield on the peas and the...
