Oh how cute. My great aunt use to have ducks and chickens under a lamp in a box. I would go up and tap on the side of the box and they would come running and peeping. She named one after me before she passed away. (brings back many memories) Thanks for posting!

@jupiter:So glad our chicks brought back good memories to you.  They've been a pleasure to have around.  I almost bought a 1 day old duck a couple of weeks ago - it was so amazingly cute!  But I had a sick chick at home and didn't want to complicate things (she passed away that day unbeknownst to me).  These 3 are just the right number for me to have.  That's Jo in the foreground, Amy in the middle and Meg in the back.  We're working on their chicken tractor this weekend, although we have a few more weeks before they're old enough and the night temps go up enough for them to occupy it.  I'll bet the chicken that had your name was a pretty special chick!

Aww love the 'little women'.  I was only 9 at that time...and the one named for my aunt Helen died too....just shortly before my aunt. (somehow she knew the chick was sickly....) They are just adorable.

Yes, named them after Little Women.  I reread the book after I got the chicks to make sure I got their personalities right.  Had to rename Meg and Jo, but got Amy and Beth right.  So glad we got them - they've added a new dimension to our home.
