I have been gardening/landscaping for 60+ years and was mentored by my father Patsy Mobilia Jr. (a master gardener in the landscape business for many years). I am now retired, but do a little farming and work in a greenhouse, potting/selling annuals and perennials.

A Garden for All Seasons Sharon, MA

My garden is both formal and informal and gives one a very relaxed comfortable feeling. Maintaining the garden for all seasons (spring-summer-fall-winter) is labor intensive, but worth the enjoyment and pleasure I get from gardening and giving it to others. » more

Hello Pasquale, I am reading a book that I think you would like. The Title is "The Earth Knows My Name" and the subject is immigrants from several countries, including Italy, who have settled in the U.S. and kept their gardening traditions. The book has heart and is well-written. The author is Patricia Klindienst. She lives in Guilford, CT

@Groundskeeper:    Thank you for the book reference and I will try to get it at the library.   During the 50's I worked with my father who ran a landscaping business and he employed 12-men or so, some of which were Italian immigrants.  In those days you had to have a sponsor that would guarantee you employment in order to immigrate to the US.  They were natural landscapers and wonderful down to earth people.   It was a great experience working and learning from them.  We usually worked half to a full day at each home with two to six men ...... not cut and run landscaping as most often happens today.
