@lfin: He is our alarm clock in the morning, he has become my wife's therapy, since she became disabled and couldn't ride horses anymore. We haven't trained him to pull anything, but he will come to you when called. He has a bad habit of nibbling on peoples clothes though...
We are all on 5 acres and in the front there are 2 horses with a new baby, and two other horses within 50ft of him. I do think he needs to have a companion though. We lock the front gate and he gets the run of 3 acres each day. and of course loves harvest season.
