The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

I think it was PYehl who mentioned this week that people are posting fewer garden pics....maybe because the gardens aren't so "pretty" anymore. Hit that nail right on the head! We have craziness. Full on craziness. We are still picking loads of tomatoes, zucchini, summer squash....but what a mess! We usually save the cleanup for Columbus Day weekend...3 days.  The leaves are not really changing at all yet. It's been hot and oppressively humid. School was disgusting. I am not a sweater....but I was this week! Right now there are severe thunderstorms moving through the region...not sure what we will get. A cold front is moving in. We are supposed to have a few mornings in the 40's next week. WHAT? Can't be.  I will look forward to a slight cool down and then an Indian Summer....let those plants keep producing!  I've posted some pics of the craziness we refer to as Prince Snow Farm. Things are starting to come back here after my least favorite month August.  My birthday month and the hottest month of the year here in South Texas.  I love the photos!  Yes I do think Peggy is right about the pictures.

Yes PYehl was definitely right ... my garden wasn't something really pretty to look at ... I do have some fall stuff planted & a little clean-up done.

I agree too, the garden looks are fading and our time is really being taken by all the processing that needs to be done.  We are so happy with how this years garden turned out and as it comes to an end, it is sad but yet a happy moment, as we will take what we learned and add it to the planning of the new garden.  A winter with plenty of books and ideas, and YGS  sounds like a very nice winter indeed.  :) :)
