Last Harvest of Micro-Greens for This Bowl Mar 12, 2012
Activity-icon-status

One last harvest of this batch of micro-greens. I have gotten 4 harvests off this bowl, but now they are starting to get tough, so I'll plant a fresh batch of seed and start on the next bowl of micro-greens. The spicy mix is really good too, it has peppergrass, radish, mustard, kale and other spicy greens in it.

Activity-icon-status

I sowed a new pot of micro-greens today, this time it's lemon basil. That will be a very tasty treat in a few weeks! I'm going to try lots of different basil varieties as micro-greens. I need a fresh basil fix long before it will be time to set any basil plants in the garden!

The garlic and shallots have started growing in the garden. The hardneck varieties I am growing this year are 'Spanish Roja' and 'Music'. The softneck varieties are 'Oregon Blue' and 'Susanville'. I also planted a few 'Elephant' garlic bulbs from last seasons harvest. The shallots are a mystery variety that I got from a friend... ...see more

I up-potted the first batch of 'Sensation' cosmos and put them in the greenhouse to grow for a few more weeks before I transplant them into the garden. 'Frosted Queen' cornflower, too.
