@Clenram: I do like the taste, and I agree it can be bitter, especially if it doesn't get enough water or if it starts to bolt it's even more bitter. I find it has a peppery bite to it that is a nice compliment to some of the sweeter greens or spinach and brown basmati rice. I also like it steamed or stir fried with a splash of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic and some fresh ParmesanÂ.... I even make pesto out if it, but I always mix it with at least 1/2 chard or spinach to temper the strong flavor.
