I love pansies!  I have not had luck with growing them from seed.  Do you have any pointers.  Did you see the picture of the snack my son made with pansies and pears?

The pear and pansy snack your son made looked delicious!
In your climate, you will want to sow seed for pansies in late summer for fall, winter and spring bloom. They like cool weather and they germinate better after stratification - a moist/cold treatment. I put my seeds in the freezer for 5 days to break dormancy, then sow them 1/8 inch deep and keep the soil moist. Pansies require darkness to germinate, so cover them with something solid until they germinate. I hope that helps!

@Queen_of_Green:  I will give it a try next year.  I may visit a local gardener who may have some already blooming this year.  Then again I have a bunch of stuff I need to get in the ground this coming week!
