We finished building the perimeter beds in the giving garden tonight. Mama Killdeer has a nest in the way of one beds, so we won't place that bed until the eggs hatch and the babies scatter.

You are so much more considerate than Morissa.  Nice that the garden can wait for the renters to finish up.  :)

I am heading down to the community garden for a work party to build some more raised beds. Progress has been slow because of the weather, so hopefully we can get it done fast now!

WooHoo! The sun is coming out tomorrow and we have a high of 79! Thursday is supposed to be a high of 77. I can't wait to get my hands dirty in the garden! Happy Day!

So glad you are finally getting some good weather!  You've been waiting long enough :)  Feel free to push any dry air towards Minnesota - we could really use the dry out!

What are your favorite cookbooks for preserving food, canning, pickling, dehydrating, etc.?

Another thing I need to try.  What do you do with these and what do they taste like.  How on earth did you learn to eat all these different plants?
Clenram replied 11 months ago
I must say I have not seen or eaten them here in Texas or New Mexico.

It's been really windy the past few days... It sure dries things out fast! :)
JMTKMS replied 11 months ago
Yes, it dries them out then rips them out of the ground and throws them in the field!  I really am getting tired of the wind....  If it would just go away.  :(
