I decided to start a vegetable garden this year in order to save money and to eat healthier by increasing the amount of vegetables I eat. Since they're expensive at the store, I thought I could accomplish these goals by growing my own. I've never grown vegetables before, although I have grown flowers, so I'm excited at my "first" garden. I call myself an urban farmer partly because I live in a city but mostly because I think that sounds cool.

I started seeds from 21 different kinds or varieties of vegetables: 4 tomato, 2 sweet pepper, 1 hot pepper, 1 okra, 1 eggplant, 1 amaranth (never heard of this before, so we'll see how it goes, but at least it's supposed to be pretty), 1 mix of different kinds of lettuce (don't know what I'll get), 3 carrot, 1 onion, 2 bean,... ...see more |
