My spinach is just about gone...I pulled up the kale and swish chard and most of the broccoli plants. I am going to try some purple beans in one area... some cantaloupe... another. My cabbage is coming along now. I already miss my spinach and lettuce.
I planted a small area of the greens back in the shadiest corner of the garden. They won't grow so pretty and tall there but I may be able to pick until the end of May if I'm lucky. Lots of mulch to keep the ground cooler. It has always struck me as ironic how by the time the tomatoes,cucumbers etc. come in I'm fighting just to keep the lettuce alive!
