@RoriTx: That is a nice looking tomato. My plants are just 6-8 inches high, but I hope the grow nice like yours. I have all new varieties this year. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.
@JMTKMS: The Big Red plants have topped 6' now. I just went down the row and trimmed back the tops. When I first started experimenting with different ways to grow tomatoes I tried digging out a hole the size of a five gal. bucket and filling it with compost in instead of the wide beds. I didn't trim them back. Gary had to cut more conduit for me and add them to my stakes with pipe collars. It didn't help they were deeper under the trees than I plant them now. The topped out at over ten feet tall that year and I did have to get a ladder to pick.
@RoriTx: Wow, that is a "tall" tomato tale. :) I would love to have a really good tomato year. We have not had terrible luck in the past, but I know it can be better. I did buy a little organic fertilizer this year, which usually we only add things from here. I would love to "need a ladder" to pick. That is my goal. I saw it in a book once and thought how wonderful it was. Well, I can wait to see the tojm all nice a red... and heres to wishing mine get growing and do the same.!
I have so many green tomatoes ...will they ever be ripe. I am afraid they will all ripen while I am up at mom's ... we leave tomorrow for the long drive.
