I'm going to plant more this fall. They have a very very mild radish taste, are the size of a turnip and the tops look more like turnip greens than radish tops. We tasted the sliced one but I think I will try steaming the rest

@JMTKMS: They taste like a radish but they are very mild and not hot at all

@RoriTx:  We tried a bunch of different looking radish last year, but they were all really hot, so I went back to the cherry belles for this year.

@RoriTx:  I planted some for the first time.  I will have to look for the names.

Beautiful! I'll have to try these in the fall... They are so pretty!

@Queen_of_Green: It's so strange to let a radish grow so large. You have to space them out like turnips and I'm wondering if the tops would be good too. I have a recipe for radish top pesto that I've never tried before.

@RoriTx: It is different, isn't it! I'm sure the tops would be good too. I steamed some radish greens a few days ago and they were delicious! Radish top pesto sounds wonderful too... Yum! :)

@Queen_of_Green: It really does resemble turnip greens more than a radish. It doesn't have the little prickles like radishes do.
Queen_of_Green replied 12 months ago
@RoriTx: Ooooh... I bet that will be tasty.
Clenram replied 12 months ago
@Queen_of_Green:  I agree these look beautiful!  I am not a big radish person but Rori says they are also good for your garden.
Queen_of_Green replied 12 months ago
@Clenram: I'm not a big radish per... unless they are homegrown. I never buy them in the store and i only grow the varieties I like. I do plant Icicle radishes with my squash and I let a lot of them go to seed to attract beneficial insects and keep the bad bugs away...

Those radishes are beautiful.  You are quite the gardener.  I'm so jealous!
