Planning for Fall
Jul 04, 2012
|
It's time to sit down with The Mother Earth Planner and layout the fall garden. We'll head to Arkansas end of the week for a little R & R. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to no canning, picking, freezing or watering. I'm going to tie up putting up the last of what I have picked and as I do every July turn the garden over to my neighbor who will take over watering duties in exchange for being able to pick at will. I can hear the wheels turning in her head already.
When I return the pickling cucumbers will head to the compost and I'll plant another round of Butternut Squash,a few slicer cucumbers and maybe some Acorn Squash. The fall tomatoes will have to be seeded along with getting a start on the cabbages, Broccoli,Cauliflower & Brussels Sprouts.
I have a counter full of tomatoes to put up today and of course it's a long time till Friday so who know what else I can come up with.
