The hubby was telling me about keyhold gardens yesterday. I think we're going to try one this year, and repurpose some of the bricks from the old delapidated silo that we had torn down in 2010 so it didn't fall on our barn.

"Keyhold" = "keyhole". Fingers not working yet this morning.

Show pictures please...not sure what a keyhole garden would be?
Where Does the Time Go? Feb 16, 2013

Things are busy as ever around the Stone Cottage. Our goat kidding season has begun - the first of our does who was due gave birth to triplets on Valentines Day! We have a whole month to enjoy them before the "real" kidding season starts in March, when most of the rest of our does are due.

In the meantime we're doing some organizing...

Found this article on using epsom salt in the garden and around the yard. Seems like someone posted something about epsom salts out here last year, but can't remember what? Have you used this with success? http://wakeup-world.com/2012/05/05/gardening
SweetDomesticity replied 4 months ago
I haven't used epsom salt in the garden, but I have been meaning to for a couple of seasons now (I just never got around to it once the garden kicked into gear).  It's on my list to make happen this y... more »

Wow! I sure had illusions of grandeur at the time of my last post, in, um, let's see.... September! Visions of fall and winter garden planning and posts and conversations out here danced in my head....and then before I knew it my hubby Dave and my first wedding anniversary was upon us, our "honeymoon" vacation came and went,...

Bacon, tomatoe, kale, nasturtium leaf, shredded carrot sandwiches for dinner. Um, Yum! :-)
PrinceSnow replied 10 months ago
Add bacon and my kids will eat it...in fact we are trying bacon pancakes tomorrow!!!!  That sandwich sounds so packed with a variety of flavors.
StoneCottageFarm replied 10 months ago
@PrinceSnow: We didn't have any lettuce, so substituted the kale and nasturtium leaves, and the shredded carrot was just a whim, but it all worked together really well. :-)
Clenram replied 10 months ago
That does sound good to me!

Well, it's been a few days since I've had a chance to really get out here, we've been so busy - per usual. lol

Friday night the first campers arrived for the 75th Annual Deming/Miller Reunion - our cousin Christine and her husband, Kevin, who toughed out the chilly evening temps that dipped into the low 50s/high 40s - in a tent!...

Ever Wake up Tired? Aug 14, 2012
Activity-icon-status

Good Tuesday morning, Fellow Gardeners.

I'm sure, especially now that for many of us harvest is in full swing, you can relate to "waking up tired." Mornings seem to come earlier all the time, even though the alarm is still going off at the same time.

Yesterday I started making big gardening plans for the evening, over morning...

Forgot to hit "save" on this before leaving for work this morning...so, "good morning" is now "good afternoon". ;-)
SweetDomesticity replied 10 months ago
I can so relate - waking up tired seems to be my new "normal" lately!  Love the turkeys!
JMTKMS replied 10 months ago
