Pumpkins started indoors are getting flowers like crazy. Suppose they'd tolerate a cold frame if we made one?

Rhubarb Crisp and other Aspirations

Apr 24, 2012

There's a sigh of thankfulness in the air, as they sent Dad home from the hospital yesterday with a clean bill of health. Follow up in six weeks with the cardiologist, but after 6 days he's free of IVs, and seems to be feeling great after the surgery.

With that behind us, we're settling in to a "normal" week on the farm. Now that we're able to keep a little more milk from the two does we're milking, it's accumulating rather quickly in the fridge - time for the first cheesemaking of 2012, Dave says!

To celebrate, after hauling out a few more wheelbarrows of aged manure from the corner room in the barn, I think I'll make a rhubarb crisp, as there is finally enough out there ready for I think just about one crisp.

In the interim just wanted to stop out and say hello, and share a few glimpses from around the farm yard tonight.

Happy Gardening!

Glad all is going well for your family!  Clean bill of health, sounds great!  I bet "The Farm" missed your attention lately and will be very excited to get you back.  Have fun and enjoy that rhubarb crisp... it sounds so good!

Thanks, everyone. It was a long week, but God is good and Dad seems to be doing great. It's good to see my Mom really smiling again, too. :-)
