A Quick Evening Tending Jun 05, 2012
Activity-icon-status

The rain of the past few days has completely given way to gorgeous sunshine today, and warm but pleasant temps. Dave had today off work, got to enjoy most of the day on the farm, and managed a trip to the Marlette Stockyards this morning. The stockyard is open on Mondays only, and we're always at work, so getting to visit is...

Overcast skies and plenty of rain have kept us cooped up and unable to do much gardening the past few days, but today the forecast is saying after a 40% chance of rain again today, it's supposed to start clearing up, with sunshine and highs in the 70s the rest of the week. We are looking forward to getting outdoors again!

By the way-any luck yet on a permanent moveable chicken coop?

Still overcast this morning, with 50% chance of more rain today. Good day to get the Stone Cottage shaped up for Mom & Dad Beecher's visit later.

A Rainy, Cool Welcome to June Jun 02, 2012
Activity-icon-status

The roller coaster weather ride of 2012 continues today, June 1, with temps only reaching the 60s, and with a few momentary lapses, a cool drizzly rain falling all day, sometimes bursting into a downpour. Dave is currently building a fire in our fireplace to help keep us warm on this chilly evening! And to think, in March we...

It doesn't look like it quit raining since it started last night, and is still raining. Giving a good drink to everything outside for sure.

Last year, I used my whiskey barrels to grow potatoes.  They worked great!  I must have missed a couple of potaotoes because I have plants coming up in two of the barrels.
