I'd poke around in the dirt and check the roots. If it's just rained and it's still showing signs of water stress there may either be root damage or something related. How long has it been since you set it... more »

looks like squash near by - did you spray soapy water to kill squash bugs and it hit the pepper plants... some plants are not tolerant to different sprays.  I had a pepper plant do that for a few days... more »

looks like squash near by - did you spray soapy water to kill squash bugs and it hit the pepper plants... some plants are not tolerant to different sprays.  I had a pepper plant do that for a few days after it got a little BT on it from spraying the broccoli/cabbage in the bed next to it from the wind.  They did finally perk up after a while tho...   hope you don't have root nematodes or maybe cucumber beetle larvae nibbling the roots.  =/

I took a closer look at the ground around the plant tonight, and I think it might be ants.  There is a pretty sizable ant hill pretty much right underneath the plant, and that is the only difference between the wilted plant and the normal looking plants.  Time to do a little reading up battling ants...  (less)

Looks beautiful - but so innocent, wouldn't expect it to have a hot flavor based on it's pale color. lol. One year when I was very new to gardening, I planted what I thought were mild banana peppers, turns out they were some sort of REALLY hot pepper. That was an interesting first bite. The hottest thing we grow in our garden is jalepnos, although we grow lots of green, red, and yellow bell peppers, and - actual - mild banana peppers. (less)

Yep, lots of cleaning, but some garden fun as well.  I've been spending my early mornings and evenings (when it's been cooler) in the gardens and the days tackling a number of projects around the house .  Today I took the front door off the hinges, sanded it down and re-stained it, and I put up new blinds in the bedrooms - lots of yard work to tackle tomorrow.  Not nearly as relaxing as a real vacation, but it does feel good to cross a few things of that list!
