Sadly, this was one slow-moving storm and we got (are still getting) a lot of snow!  Yesterday's first wave fizzled throughout the day and we only got about 2 inches, if that.  As of 9 a.m. there was officially 9" on the ground since about 8:30 last night when the second wave started, but I bet we got at least another 3 or 4 inches since 9 a.m.  It's still lightly snowing, so I haven't heard the final official total yet.

Maybe next year I'll remember to get some photos of the buds throughout the winter to see the changes.  It amazes me how they really start to grow even when it's still quite cold out - gives me hope that underneath our blanket of snow and ice, spring is stirring!

I just went down to the basement to stain an Easter basket I am making for a shower gift. Guess what I found? A whole roll of that aluminum tape!! I am so excited! Last year, I used Susan's idea of the plastic forks as I had lots in my cupboard. Now I can used the aluminum tape!  I will ask my husband first as I don't know what he uses it for. I can already see him rolling his eyes because it doesn't take much to get me excited!! LOL! (less)
