Thanks, Liz!  It's actually quite fun to still have some end of season garden photos to work with - makes it less depressing at how dark and cold it is now :)
Queen_of_Green replied 5 months ago
Congratulations to both of you!... Welcome back... you were missed! :)
SweetDomesticity replied 5 months ago
Thanks, Susan!  :)  I've still got a lot of catching up to do, but it's good to have some time to devote to garden chatter again!

Fall Flurry Oct 08, 2012
Activity-icon-status

For the past couple of weeks I've been completely consumed in a flurry of fall activity.  Our lives have been busier than ever, I've been traveling for work, and the garden was still going strong right up until the last green tomato was picked late last week on the eve of our first hard frost.

I was out of town last week when... ...see more

How beautiful!  Wonderful collection, it would really look stunning as a framed assortment in a restaurant lobby or a beautiful home kitchen!  You really do have an "eye" for a great picture!
SweetDomesticity replied 8 months ago
Thank you!  I think one of my winter projects is going to be to put together a photo book with some "best of" photos.

This is early for you isn't it? We had a light frost Saturday morning and a more damaging one Sunday morning. Of course, now it has warmed up and we should be ok until next week. Hope every thing was OK.

Knocked out 25lbs of tomatoes tonight in the form of tomato soup (at the husband's request) and basic tomato sauce - time to call it a day and leave the rest for later!

The season is catching up to the garden quickly - it's not as pretty as it once was and things are looking a bit more fallish with each passing day, but still quite productive!

I really should have seen this one coming:  I dedicated an entire week on my blog to salsa last week, only to start out this week by harvesting 20 lbs of tomatoes.  Guess what I will be doing tonight?!

The two flats of "big tomatoes" (mostly romas, just a few slicers) I harvested last night  came in around 15 lbs and makes... ...see more

I have enjoyed your recipes for Salsa week! I'll be making most of them in the near future... I hope I have some ripe tomatoes at the community garden tomorrow. Anxiously awaiting fresh salsa and lots for canning this fall! :)
