Gardening since 1990
Three of my loves are gardening, photography and design. This love affair produces Botanica, Patterns of Growth a photographic series exploring form, pattern and structure. I live in a diverse growing area where I am always inspired by a new plant and I never run out of material.

    Hi Tara,
Maybe this coming Spring I can get some eggs to you to photograph. The hens are slowing down for the winter. We have a Black Copper Cuckoo Maran that lays beautiful Chocolate colored eggs with tiny spots. They look like died easter eggs. I'll try to upload a photo soon. I'm enjoying your new designs.

@Xotchilt:Hi Maribel, Those eggs sound great. Would love to see photos. I can't remember where you live, but I have a little more flexibility now, and could perhaps visit if it works for you.

i wonder if # 25 of your patterns is black locust seed...
TaraGillBotanicalPhotos replied almost 2 years ago
@katemarie:Hi Kate, I love your profile picture, what fun! Thanks for the suggestion on the unidentified plant wings (I think that's the one you are commenting on). I think they belong to some kind of maple. I looked up black locust seed pods and here is what I found. I actually have a picture of some of those, a design that never made it past the cutting room floor. I will post it in my glog for you!

Hi Tara, I'm following up on the question you posed yesterday on this garden photo of yours about SWF files:I assume you are trying to reformat a video file (like a FLV) that is contained in the SWF file? Have a look inside the folder that contains the other elements associated with the SWF - the largest file would be the video file. Then let me know what type of file it is and I can let you know how to convert it or I may be able to do it for you if it is just a one-time thing. Look forward to hearing from you!

Gorgeous Gardens Tara! I see you definitely have the creative eye. I love taking pics of native flowers while hiking the Open Space trails around Mt. Tam. Our Bay Area backyard is so layden with the beauty of diversity. It's my favorite way to de-stress :)
TaraGillBotanicalPhotos replied almost 3 years ago
@rdemicco: Hi Rachel, Thank you! Now that I have a new baby, I don't get out into the garden as often as I used to, and gardening is a wonderful destresser for me too. Would like to see some of your native flower pictures, my knowledge of California wild flowers is sketchy. I love your girls. I wish I could have chickens where I live, but it is just not suitable. One day... Thanks for writing. Tara
