Sweet Pea flower seed startings

Mar 07, 2012
Finally made it out for more soil & inserts. Had to spritz down the flat of Romanesco broc & the peony poppies with chamomile water. The one end of broc's were showing signs of  the pesky gnat brats. I began the soaking of my sweet pea flower seeds I ordered from owls sweet peas in England. These seeds are special being I am growing DARK purple sweet peas for my dearest friends wedding and this batch is the trial. The date is set for the Full moon weekend of late June 2013. Wedding party flowers are to be lush dark purple {almost black} sweet peas with small green envy zinnia's and hop vines as the stem binding.

I made sure to get the Southborne Cream sweet peas as well for adding in the flower decor of her outdoor mountainside wedding. These will be planted in my main garden while the dark purple will be planted by the cottage front bed to ensure purity.
Tomorrow is lettuce seeding day. Now to decide the design. swirl, dots or letters... hmm.

If your friend needs an awesome wedding cake, i know this awesome baker (ME! :P) However, I think there may be a distance issue! Lol. But the flowers sound beautiful!

@tallulahshines:Oh how i WISH it was possisbe! They really like the idea of a small main cake with cupcakes for the guests. I am the official "wedding Planner".  It's all about a classy casual weekend in the country wedding. I am growing ALL the flowers, making majority of the DIY decor {like cement hypertufa  "trough" containers which will contain Moss salvaged from the mass amounts I have here as well as hopefully finding someone willing to do some swapping or sharing of Purple Rosette succulents. Those things avg $4 a piece-just too pricey for one little plant. especially when you need at least 10-15 at minimum. The guys are all Notebook {the movie} influence 1940's era style casual dress pants, button ups with ties & suspenders as well as wearing Fedoras with the groom in a casual dress vest instead of suspenders. Girls in long simple slight greek influence sundresses and barefeet. Clear lights strung in trees and squaring in the reception area. Live band for music. Homemade strawberry wine made by her Mum. And everyone is "camping out" on her Mum's farm for the wedding weekend. I've been searching the net for ideas & inspiration to share with her so when I find pictures I feel would fit with her vision, I print them out & had put them in a journal book for her. They were so excited over that and the groom took a big interest in the planning due to it. He LOVED the groomsmen wear idea and the guys are planning a special Fedora shopping trip together. lol Oy Vey, this was long. Sorry about that. it's not even my wedding but I am bubbling with excitement to have so many parts their day.
