Simple. Pleasant & getting there... Mar 23, 2012
Activity-icon-status

The morning started out simply pleasant. I donned my white sundress and the embroidered cream apron before slipping my stocking feet into the usual garden footwear of black muck boots. They do not stay on long. Mostly something to cover my feet as I tromp into the hen yard with their Morning scratch & feed.

Work in the garden, Lovage Hunting & tomato contemplation Mar 21, 2012

I began the morning with the intent to at least weed the North side fence. The grass & weeds began creeping past the pickets, a few inches into the garden. I accomplished the North side & a little over half of the south side. I also discovered a few comfrey plants by one post I must have transplanted last year.
I am on... ...see more

Blooming & budding! Mar 20, 2012
Activity-icon-status

I think the grass needs cut. Actually, it is in NEED of being cut.
The pear & apple trees are budding green as well as our weeping Cherry tree's bursting open their flowers. The photo I am sharing is from yesterday. They burst open this morn, driving the bee's into pleasurable buzz's.
The weeping willow is even vibrant with... ...see more

Love the last line, "...take it all one day at at time..." How true.

My husband said he thinks he's going to cut the grass tomorrow.  He has never cut the grass in March!!

Sure wish our yard needed mowing, but I am sure John is glad it does not.

Other then tending to the chickens & inspecting the young seedlings in the garden, I am taking it easy. I had a bout of some food allergy reaction yesterday. I have always made my own Tabbouleh and being the Parsley out back is still not enough for a decent bowl, I grabbed a small container of premade at the health food store.... ...see more

I'm not a Truvia fan either. I've never really thought to check if an Elderberry tree would grow here. We've planted peach, plum, fig and persimmon trees. We planted a Gala and Granny Smith apple tree but th... more »

The mosquito's were biting today! It feels as though I am in the twilight zone. It does not feel right but it feels SO good to be so warm. I can't stop! What will I ever do when the cool weather crop seeds & plants run out? I believe I may have to turn my focus onto the Black Berry & Raspberry Patches. Clean out last... ...see more
