Snow in Tucson this morning! Had to cover up the corn and add some extra mulch around the rest of the plants. Hopefully this will make for some delicious Kale!

We live less than a 1/4 mile outside of downtown Tucson in a rented house with a backyard garden of 250 sq ft. We plant over 60 varieties of vegetables and herbs every year mostly for personal consumption. We also have 7 crazy chickens! Our favorite things to grow so far are tomatoes, artichokes and corn. Most of the seeds come from Baker Creek as well as Native Seed Search. We start 99% of our plants from seeds. We are forced to use drip irrigation due to the arid, desert conditions we live, in as well as 30% shade cloth during the summer for most of the garden. We have been wildly successful in growing tomatoes...
