Gardening is great this year - but so much family stuff happening too busy to post much these days.  When the snow files will start to catch up.

snow - seven inches possible tomorrow night. can't quite believe it but that's the way it goes. our crops are harvested and guess we're ready.

Sounds like the ideal day - and even the gray skies were perfect for the transplanting activities - and you didn't need to slather on the sunscreen!

Cannot resist heading out to a local town plant sale to see what's for sale.  Still have 5 quince to plant before driving to see family tomorrow, but what's a few more plants?
And with all the rain we're having, at least won't have to worry about watering anything in.

Liz - thanks.  They mostly had stuff I already have a lot of, but did come home with thalictrum & a cute little bronze ajuga.  And I planted them too.

So I don't forget - here's what we got from the Windham County Conservation district & planted so far:

10 fir trees - 2 kinds 5 balsam &  5 with a name I can't remember
4 raspberries
20 new strawberry plants - 2 varieties - will have to look up the names
5 new munstead lavender plants
5 sweet autumn clematis

Still have about 2 feet of snow cover, but spring is in the air. Saw 3 robins so far, and have noticed a subtle pink tinge to the tree branches so trees are waking up.

Have not been to Japan yet.  Now that we live in VT, traveling is not so alluring  - but with the kids world-hopping, guess we'll keep travel in the budget for awhile.  There is so much to d... more »
