I've learned ants aren't the problem. I agree with Queen of Green. The problem usually comes with another pest the ants stay close too. I had ants on my sunflowers and I couldn't understand why the plants weren't healthy if all I saw were ants. Unfortunatley, there were these thorn like things that were actually bugs called treehoppers that the ants were protecting them. Sort of like how ants get along with aphids. Now they are dead. The treehoppers drained them of sap. I would be on very VERY close watch with the ants because they are usually working in cahoots with another bug that does damage.

Thanks ladies! I'm glad to hear I don't need to keep up my egg removal strategies; super tedious and really kinda grossed me out!
