| my parents took these (Naples, FL). Some really cute ideas for kids gardens...and don't the waterlillies remind you of nasturtiums?! |

these can definitely pass under radar as actual chicken nuggets! You could omit the thyme and maybe even cook them in the pan after dredging in a little flour and then I think they would ABSOLUTELY go unde... more » |

fyi found out that if you cut nasturtiums and put them in water (like for a flower bouquet) they will send off roots and start blooming new flowers!

| Love this kind of little tidbit! |

| Apparently deer really like sweet potato leaves & okra. They hit mine ... luckily my sweet potatoes were ready to be harvested. I was going to try RoriTx's sweet potato leaves recipe - the deer beat me to it. |

| i highly recommend this "Court Jester" marigold variety (Baker Creek seed). They are a very unique marigold. They are typically striped (jester-ish) but many variations appear (as shown in these pics). |

| Love the color-themed photo set! I did a similar series of harvested garden goodies on my blog last summer and had a lot of fun with it. Great photos, as usual! :) |

I miss updating everyday! Been busy...and we are still in the midst of a bad drought and I have been barely watering. I've sort of thrown in the towel until it cools off a little more and starts (hopefully!) raining! Plus I have a deer fence in my garden plans (I may actually put it up for the fall and then again in the spring)... ...see more |

Our garden was planted in 2010 (and was much smaller then!). My son named the garden in 2012. The plan was to plant tall plants on the outside so he could "spy" out of it! The name has been quite apt as we are always "spying" interesting blooms, plants and animals in and around the garden. In 2013 the addition of a garden teepee will provide for more sneaking and spying opportunity! The addition of a deer fence in 2013 will hopefully mean much more produce to spy (and eat!) as well!
