I have tons of gray roly poly type bugs in the garden (I think they are sowbugs or pillbugs since they don't roll up into a ball but otherwise look like a grey roly poly). They haven't caused damage yet but any advice?
JMTKMS replied about 1 month ago

I have to confess that I can't bring myself to look at the larger pictures - just the thumbnails are making me squirm!
amaranth3 replied about 1 month ago
hahah yeah it was big. I was planting the tomatoes when I saw it and needless to say, after I saw this spider I thought it was a good time to take a break!
Planting Schedule for May May 07, 2013

The Farmer’s Almanac planting schedule really seems to fit with this later spring we’ve had in Missouri. Spy Garden will follow the May planting schedule described below. The dates and information in quotation marks below are copied directly from the Farmer’s Almanac website:

This is the first year I've actually ever used a planting schedule! I actually wrote all the dates in my day planner and it just makes the whole transplanting process SO much more organized and manageable.... more »

The Spy Garden Deer Fence is Installed! May 04, 2013
Activity-icon-status

The fence is installed! I figured you could see in the pictures I've been posting, but the fence is nearly invisible with some lighting/angles! We (and by we I mean my husband) pounded in 30 (or 31?) 7' green metal fence posts. Then attached the deer fencing material to each post with zip ties. I posted each stage of building...

I hope it works out well for you - deer can be so destructive to a garden!  I only have problems with them out in our community garden plot, so I'm trying to keep all the deer delicacies at home in th... more »

We'll still have to do some preventative work for sure (even if they don't stop to eat, they can really mess things up by just running through and knocking things down).  We found some organic granule... more »
