The tomato patch is mostly done, ready for planting. I turned over all the leaves into the dirt, and while there are still sort of a lot of leaves mixed in I think it will be fine. The Spy loves these and said "Oh my gosh, these are so good. Did you invent these?" lol not exactly, but we did grow the kale!!

oh and the kale is starting to bolt, which I have never seen before. I ate one of the clusters of buds and they kind of taste like broccoli (and kind of look like it too). I'm going to let the kale bolt and try and save some seeds!

Well, she is a pretty old and lazy dog. haha She sits in that spot so often the bird probably figured it was safe enough!

We've moved the new dirt into the garden (and by "we" I mean my husband haha). The majority of it went into the new garden area which will be the melon patch and bean teepee. The rest of it is in a pile on top of the front plots of the garden. Every time I plant a seedling I grab a handful of it and plant the little seedling... ...see more

I actually planted these about a week and a half ago. They have not popped up yet but I peeked under the dirt at them and they have germinated.
