| I use a piece of screen to sift the seed from the pods and they just fall right into the container |

| After the greens have produced many meals, I leave some to "go to seed" and they produce beautiful yellow flowers. The bees also love them at this stage. Later the flowers will fall and seed pods will be allowed to dry. |

A lesson was well learned with the Tip Tops. I conditioned the soil with a tiny bit of fresh eggshell and a bit of chicken litter in the planting hole. I did not realize this would be a "possum magnet". He had a good time digging the seed up to get at the eggshell. I am sure he was disappointed when he discovered there... ...see more |

| We do have possums, so that is go info to know as I do put my eggshells in my garden. We have raccoons that get into the cats' food. |

I have been gardening in the vegetable garden since I was a small child.In fact, I actually got a wheel barrow for my 8th birthday. I was taught a lot by my neighbor "Auntie" and grew to love gardening with her and my parents.
