Cool! My grandma grew comfrey for tea but I didn't know it made good mulch...

@krandolph: Definitely check it out. Apparently comfrey has a lot of herbal and medicinal applications (I'm still too nervous to ever use any herbal remedies outside of store bought), but it also accumulates nutrients, grows crazy fast, and the leaves decompose quickly. A few times a season I'll slash it back and scatter the leaves around the garden...mulch AND fertilizer! Related: http://ozarksalive.org/larrapin/?p=550

@krandolph:  Hi krandolph,  apparently comfrey tea is a good remedy for whatever ails tomatoes too:  http://www.linkedin.com/groupItem?view=&gid=1133637&type=member&item=24250313&commentID=19993992&report.success=8ULbKyXO6NDvmoK7...-BBjkmxwkEOwBjLE2...#commentID_199939...

I am not sure that LinkedIn link worked.  It should have read that comfrey tea works to repair what ever ails a tomato plant too.

Found the secret of comfrey - between the National Vegetable Society of the UK and The Greenhouse!  You are so ahead of the curve on this!  Thanks - I linked your photo to remind me how-to!
