Fantastic! Would love to see more pictures since I have only been in cities in Italy. Your garden is like a vacation that is too short and so green!

Carola, such beautiful photos of the poppies! I'm glad you're on YourGardenShow. Like "Tulip," I'd love to see more photos of your gardens. How can your location be zone 9a and also have snow in the winter? I'm confused. Or is Italy just a different place for gardening?
carola replied almost 3 years ago
actually i have no idea what the zone is, may be you can help me out? is there a map i can look it up? thanks for both of your comments :-)

I found this but I think it's not reliable. http://www.gardenweb.com/zones/europe/hze6.html

I have a feeling that you're right about 9a, even though it snows on you. After five days of sun and 60's in San Francisco, I'm disappointed by Iowa's weather--currently high 80's, ditto for humidity, six inches of rain in one week, more to come. I'd like a change.

The poppies are spectacular, especially set against such a lush green background.  I wish I had 10 acres!  Then again, I have trouble finding time to care for the 1/4 acre we inhabit.

Your poppies are absolutely beautiful. It must be nice to be surrounded by such beauty.

oh they are easy to grow - just like your watermelons. they came by themselves - i guess because i am a lazy garden-keeper and suddenly...
