| An outdoor cat would help with mice and keep the squirrels away. The down side is they go after the birds, too. |

| The bad thing here is that the owls go after the cats, and then we also have coyotes. so the cats have to be very tough. Havent had one stay yet. |

| That would be great but the owl's rule around here and they dont seem to care to much for the mice and rat population! I keep hoping the bob cat will get to work on them instead of the rabbit's as I have fencing to keep them out. |
| I put in watermelons,1 yellow crook neck, zuccinni,Bee balm,2 types of jalapeno,1 is mild, and 3 types of cukes. Now if the mice will leave them alone! May 08, 2011 | |||||

Everyone loves squash. You might try covering plants with plastic jugs if it is not too hot and the plants are not too big. Mouse traps might reveal the culprits. They even make live trap... more » |

It is in a new area of the property so I have added vermiculite and compost with some peat moss. It was Hard ground, with all the recent rains it absorbed it all with no runoff. this will be the first year for it. I have high hopes.
